postcards : from the sapphire coast

It felt good to have a change of scenery.

To feel the warmish sea breeze (And gale force winds for that matter!).

The air smelt different somehow. A mixture of salt and sweet Spring flowers.

It reminded me of when I was younger.

We hung out on white sand beaches.

I got my feet wet.

We wore short sleeves.

We ate too much fish and chips.

We opened a bottle of wine most evenings. My skin is not the better for it.

We spent many hours on the deck overlooking the ocean.

I picked flowers from the wildish garden.

I cooked simple meals every night. Salads. Pasta.

I read a Tim Winton novel that I found on the bookshelf.

I hung out washing on an old grey Hills Hoist. I love those things.

On the last day we watched the sunrise over the ocean.

  11. I'm amazed that you can live somewhere where such a range of climates can be experienced in such a short space of time - you were only showing us pictures of snow at home a few weeks ago - did you have to travel far to get to the beach?

  12. Bliss!

I have one of those old grey hills hoists. After the silly little modern clothes line that hung off the side of the house at our last house, I was actually excited about my new/old clothes line. I thought I would never be able to fill it up all at once. With two adults, two children and cloth nappies? How wrong I was! :)
