south coast stay

Greetings!

It's been quite some time hasn't it? Amongst other things we have been down the coast. Enjoying a little time away from school or work and taking advantage of the quieter coastal season. We had a pleasant time of coastal drives (not so fun almost getting bogged, but it did make Daniel's day), a little time on the beach and wandering around the towns. Our first cinema visit in years as a family went surprisingly well with our littlest person, and they all enjoyed the movie. Of course there was quite a bit of knitting, reading (on my part) and movie watching. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of cheese we ate (so good!), the prawns and scallops we prepared at the holiday house "home" and dinner at the local Italian restaurant. We enjoyed pizza and pasta for the first time in months, and I have to say, it was entirely worth it.

The dreaded chore of unpacking is almost finished (wish I could say the same about the washing!) and now we are settling back into the routine of school holidays, or rather lack of. Yes, back to real life now.

Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the week.

  1. Oh those photos brought back memories. That's where we went this time last year. And we also ate a lot of cheese. how could you resist! We are off to the south coast again this week as we loved it so much last year, but not going so far this time. Will be staying near Ulladulla.

  2. I love a Winter getaway. Nothing like having a tourist spot all to yourself. Looks like a great spot.

I am hearing you on the laundry front. After more than a week of rain, and our first Winter without a clothes dryer, today is a dedicated laundry day. I am beginning to rethink my decision about no longer having a dryer! But I figure if we can manage through this, I really don't need one. :)

  3. I just love visiting the Far South Coast. It holds a special place in my heart because it is where my husband and I grew up. We were married at Foxglove Spires at Tilba Tilba. I had a heart 'pang' when I saw your pics!

  8. Gorgeous photos and it sounds like you had a wonderful break away. I always think of the cafe called the Tilba Teapot (such a great name. lol) when I see Tilba mentioned. Also, the new TV series "River Cottage Australia" is set and filmed in Central Tilba. Beautiful area.

  9. Ah Tania, I see your Tea Leaves there - looks gorgeous on you. Beautiful job! Lovely photos of your getaway, it's such a nice part of the world the South Coast. We are finally starting school holidays tomorrow, not that we are doing or going anywhere but it will be nice to have a break from the school routine and hopefully recover from all these nasty coughs and colds we have.

  11. Oh, I recognised Tilba from your first photo and have fond memories of it - such a quaint town and the delicious bread shop and cheese factory.
