creative space : progress

Squares, squares and more squares. Ever so slowly, progress is being made on my doona cover. I am wondering what possessed me to choose five inch squares. It's obviously taking me much longer than expected. I do hope nobody is expecting all my corners to match up...because I'm just thinking that it won't be happening. Obviously my wonky template and starting the project with kitchen scissors (!) didn't really help in that regard. But that's okay. We are going to embrace the wonky handmade look.

All those years of vintage sheet collecting is proving to be worth it.

  1. Oh it is definitely worth it Tania....I think it is looking gorgeous already and the wonky bits will only add to its charm :)

I started my first quilt a few months ago and am yet to finish putting it together.

  4. Doonas look best when they're rumpled anyway so the wonkiness will just work in your favour! Looking really, really good.

  5. Hi Tania, your vintage sheet quilt is looking good, cant wait to see the finished product. I would presume that our grandmothers never had anything other than scissors to cut and make their quilts, so I am pretty sure yours will look fine.

Just stumbled across a blog you may like. I haven't had a good look just thought of you when I saw the name...

    It is: http://vintagesheets.blogspot.com/
