Taken the year we were building |
There's a definite chill in the air. Our first frost of the season is forecast tomorrow. So today you will find me gathering up the last of those cucumbers, beans, zucchini, basil and tomatoes. I can foresee a little pesto making.
But I do love that chill in the air and the promise of crisp mornings, cozy fires, scarves and woolens. And there is always the hope of snow here, though it doesn't happen every year.
Autumn has to be my very favourite season of all. Is it yours?
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Wow snow. I often forget that it snows in Australia. Up here the gold coast is humid and wet. We have 2 seasons, Wet and Hot.
ReplyDeleteMy most favourite time of year for sure! This morning we woke to that gorgeous crisp light that you get as you move to the colder months. There is nothing quite like it! Enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteYes, my absolute favourite time of year! This is our first one in our new place - gearing up for a proper winter too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realise you got snow like that where you are! I am like wewentforawalk poster in that i forget we have snow in Australia!
ReplyDeleteI'm not far from the GC so we get wet and humid too although we do dip into some chilly nights (not what i'm sure people down south would call chilly though, lol)
I do love the crisper air at dusk though and being able to climb into bed with the flannel sheets on!
Fav time of year....enjoy your gathering!
pretty photo. how nice to have snow! i love the cooler weather and although i often prefer spring, the months leading up to winter i do enjoy. have a good weekend tania. xo
ReplyDeletei do love autumn, but then i do get over it pretty quickly. i tend to peak too soon with the winter-y meals that by June I'm like "come one a bit of sunshine now!!!"
ReplyDeletelovely pic
xx
Most definitely - autumn is my favourite season - perhaps it's because I'm reaching the autumn years of my life :) Mellow colours, crisp mornings, knitting beckons...
ReplyDeleteMy favourite season by far and we are just starting to see and feel tell tale signs of it now :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend Tania.

Any season other than Summer is my favourite! I especially love the cold nights and warm-ish days of Autumn and Spring in Brisbane.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo. I can only begin to imagine what it would be like to live in a region where it snows, even if only occasionally. Though I guess it may be like my approach to rainy days, where it feels like life slows down and there are less expectations. xx
Wow! Sunny Spring has just arrived here in our little corner of the world. After a long and very cold winter, I am sooo happy :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I adore aumtumn! It's my favourite time of year too. I am so enjoying the temperatures dropping and the beginning of snuggle season... Happy pesto-ing!

Yep, it sooo is my favourite too, followed by a close second is winter. I love the cooler weather. The saddest thing is no tomatoes and basil but i so hope you can rescue what you've got and make yummy things from them to enjoy over winter. Happy cooler days, Tania x
ReplyDeleteBrrrr only 16 deg in our house this morning in Sydney ... But we have had a lovely day in the sunshine at Manly today, jackets on, jackets off, jackets on ... But later "hot" enough for a icecream :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn. Especially when the sunshine comes into through the northern windows ....
WHat a gorgeous photo, how exciting that every year brings the anticipation of snow! I am loving Autumn too this year. It has sure cooled off quickly, my young nectarine dropped all its leaves on the first day of Autumn in anticipation. No hope of snow, we are too close to the coast. but a short drive will take us to play at Cradle Mountain.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful photo! Autumn rocks!!
