catching up

In an unintentional way this blog here has somehow become a series of once a week kind of posts. Life just gets away on you sometimes, doesn't it?

As a quick way of catching up, here is my week.

We went to a music festival. We lost the internet. For four long days. It rained. We can see a little green again. I sewed little bloomers and my first ever knit dress (and you can definitely tell it is my first). We played Scrabble and the kids made an indoor cubby house.  I cast on for an Analu. I watched the first series of Love My Way. From the perspective of a thirty something this time around. I realized I forgot to buy a calender, so a year of Frankie centrefold calenders it is. School went back, with mixed feelings. The internet came back on.

Right now our first fog of the season has rolled in. Our first little hint that Autumn is not so very far away. There are little people to get out of bed, breakfasts to make and a coffee machine to turn on.

How has your week been? Do you have little ones back at school? I do hope the week is treating you well.

  4. No interenet certainly has its positives.
I can feel Autumn coming on as well now. The nights have a bit of a chill to them.

  5. We're up in Grafton NSW, after all the rain the sun is back and it's very muggy, but wow it so green again! It's been a challenging month with the weather for us, but the kitchen garden is still hanging on. The watermelons didn't make it too hot too early in the season, but the rockmelons are going berserk. I keep checking them every day for the first one to ripen. Our firstborn one will start school next week, the flood pushed it back a bit, #2 has started preschool yesterday. At least baby has waited for the worst of the weather to pass, (I'm 9 days overdue with our bub #3). It sure is a turbulent start of the year!

  7. Hello it's lovely to see you again I've missed your posts. I understand about life getting in the way it's been a crazy week here with flooding nearby (we were ok), the girls started just today, it feels a little strange the start of the school year. It's quiet here today, it is nice to have just a little bit of time to oneself:) Hope you enjoy your Thursday. x

  8. Its been a funny week so far, back to school for the older two and my third chidlet went to kindy for the first time for a WHOLE day....this possum has been with me every day for the last four years, she lays on my arm in the crook of my body at night to fall asleep and is my shadow....and yesterday she was at kindy for a WHOLE day......and she loved it...I have done a good job obviously, so adaptable and open to the fun and learning that there is to offer......it was quiet here at home for the WHOLE day...the only tears were mine......another stage of mothering, the last one starting off on her little learning journey....it is raining here today in Adelaide, lovely steady rain...the garden will love it, and I like it today because today is not so quiet home here with my little possum.

  9. We've been having connection troubles too and I must say life has been all the better for it :)
We're still very much in holiday mode and not at all prepared for school next week.
A little envious that you are already seeing signs of Autumn, we sure could do with some cooler weather here.

  12. Sounds like a lovely, and also eventful, week, particularly with school returning.
My youngest nephew started school today. It makes me realise how quickly the years fly by.
The Anula pattern is very sweet. Will you knit short or long sleeves.
My week has gone super fast. I've been posting items I have sold on ebay (more decluttering) and enjoying some relaxing evenings. Also loving a shorter working week too.
