quite busy

 knitted hand-me-downs

This week has already half passed me by in a bit of a whirlwind. Sorry for the absence of posts this week. Right now life continues to be quite busy, with Daniel home and away all week (this single parenting is no easy gig), and yesterday a sports carnival to attend.  I can't remember the last time I was so very tired. I sat on the lounge last night too tired to talk, to knit or even to read. It brought back memories of those long tiring days of working on check-outs in busy supermarkets, and I guess in some ways feeling that tiredness again can be a useful reminder of those days of my life.

Today I am going to take it a little easier, not do too much and just enjoy being at home. It is fun to get out and do things, but so very nice to know that I can stay home and recover (and catch up) the very next day.  I am off now to make my second cup of coffee for the day, purposely ignoring the half done washing up in the sink. The fire is on and the sun is out. For just a little while longer the housework can wait.

  1. I have been feeling too tired in the evenings lately to knit...which is saying something!!! Enjoy your rest and, yes, the housework will wait (says she who is fiercely ignoring the grotty bathroom right this minute...) x

  2. I know what you mean...I'm raising a 9 and 7 year old on my own and by 7pm it's knock off time...no more mothering (except for checking in on them to make sure their blanket hasn't fallen off) Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

  3. Yay! good on you Tania. I'm having a day like that too. It's sensible to look after ourselves. Just focus on the coffee and the fire. Put your feet up and enjoy them both. The washing up will wait.

  4. Ditto to Greer's comment. And now to follow your example, I too will ignore what needs to be done (the bathroom and the tumbleweeds rolling down my hallway) and put a cuppa on. Cheers :)

  5. I enjoyed a lovely home day today too. just pottering around, catching up on my fav blogs, and putting up a little fence around the vegie patch.

  6. Aren't lazy-daisy days nice now and then? Enjoy your resting, your home, and your coffee as you neglect a little of the lesser-important things for a day or so!

  7. Enjoy your rest - you can be sure that the housework will still be there when you feel up to it unfortunately.

  8. Sometimes things seem so busy I wonder if I will ever have time to read or knit again. Other times I seem to find these pockets of time just waiting for me to sit down with a book or a project. I just have to remind myself of that when things are frantic! Hope your enjoyed a little break and find some more time to yourself soon. xx

  9. It is so wonderful to return to "home" after a hectic out of h ome day. Scott and I have been doing some deep house and yard changes this Holiday weekend. Enjoying the time together and seeing the progress we are making is so wonderful. I'm wishing I had tomorrow off but I do not. Enjoy the "rest"... I've got to get my laundry done today so no rest here. :)
