on a tuesday morning

Hello! It's been a little time, hasn't it? I'm sorry if you came back here last week and there were no new posts past Monday. Last week consisted of winter bugs, an uncharged camera, and getting ready for long weekend family visitors. But I have missed this little space, and regularly updating it, so let us hope that life is a little more blog friendly this week. I think it will be.

Meanwhile I have been working on my Tea Leaves cardigan every chance I get. I made a mistake with the sleeve decreases and had to unravel most of the sleeve. It was not as painful as it sounds. Perhaps I am gaining a little knitting patience. I have a big line up of projects this season, so the sooner this is finished the sooner I can get stuck into those others. A long list can be quite motivational.

It's been pretty freezing here, with white, white frosts and the fire on around the clock. Which probably makes it no surprise that we've got a few sniffly kids, and so it will be an at home day today. It is feeling like not such a bad thing to be sitting here still in my daggy dressing gown and sipping rather than gulping that morning coffee down.

Hoping that you all had a pleasant long weekend.

  1. Lovely shot of your kitty grabbing some sun. Must be a tea leaves cardigan sleeve time. I also unravelled a tea leaves sleeve thinking it was too long. In hindsight it was ok. :[. Have a great day.

  2. Fabulous first shot.
Cats know the best spots to catch the sun - I model my winter sun-seeking behavior on theirs.
Winter sun is one of the great joys in my life.

  3. Look at your cute cat, they always find the warmest spots to sit when it's cold don't they! We've had a little one down here too just last week, it does slow the day down which I think is nice. I hope that everyone feels better soon, it's always lovely to stop by your space. x

  4. "sipping rather than gulping that morning coffee down"

Haha, I can so relate to that! I normally gulp my coffee while creating the lunchboxes and more than a few times it has gone cold ... I will now go and put the kettle on, grab my knitting and sip I shall!

  5. I much prefer sipping days rather than gulping days. I crave slow these days. Love your first pic xo

  6. that cat picture is quite cute. Your tea leaves sweater is beautiful, I love the colour, please show us when it's finished :) And that Chinese cough syrup, we use it here too. I remember going into our childhood chinese grocer when my nephew was about 2 (that would make it 10 years ago!) and he had a terrible cough and when the grocer heard him coughing he said here, he needs this. I've been using it since then, I'm out and need to make a trip for more. glad you're back :)

  7. Your Tea Leaves is looking great! I've currently lost all motivation to finish a final sleeve on a jumper but you are right, the sooner I get it done the sooner I can get onto the next fun project. Mel x
