no use crying over spilt maple syrup
Feeling not so great after staying up past midnight to finish business paperwork. After putting two days into it, the washing and cleaning has banked up. You didn't see the huge piles next to those baskets. Not to mention an extra clingy Miss Violet. Or the half bottle of maple syrup spilt all over the place as we head out the door for school yesterday.
I will be back tomorrow when the house is a little cleaner, the washing more under control and hopefully my mood a little brighter.

Oh, crap, was it real maple syrup all the way from Canada?? That would make me cry! We have that about once a year, bought for Fathers Day or something like that. I probably would have tried to lick it up...
ReplyDeleteNow have a restful day and maybe a nanna nap in the afternoon will you!
At $9 a bottle (for the dinky di Canadian stuff), I think it's worth shedding some tears over.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead: Cry away. I won't judge.

Yes, it most definitely was that Canadian "gold"! Oh well...
ReplyDeleteBrave lady - I want to cry when I "waste" our maple syrup on a recipe that doesnt work LOL :-)
ReplyDeleteHey, we have matching ironing piles...folding piles and general housey type piles....and a matching crocheted face washer, my kids love them...I look around my house some days and it looks like a bomb has literally gone off in the middle of it........but thats life.....and bit by bit we all get through it all....and then there is a new pile there waiting for us...xxxxx

ReplyDeleteOh Tania! I know how you feel. I actually ran around my house last week taking similar photos but was too exhausted to bother posting. That and the fact that I didn't know when I was going to be able to get it back to its peachy goodness . . . still much to be desired, but the kids are sick! And I don't know what is worse, the mess of maple syrup or waste of good money! Hope you have a fun day cleaning xxx Fi
ReplyDeleteAt least your washing is in pretty baskets :)
ReplyDeletethis feels so like my day today. Monika
ReplyDeletesending you some warm energy, I hope things pick up for you shortly. i wanted to let you know that i made some rolls and a loaf with your daily bread recipe- thank you so much, we are loving it. xx Sarah
ReplyDeleteAargh the maple syrup! Our neighbours 3 boys often appear just as I am serving up pancakes and the 11 year old managed to pour HALF a bottle onto his plate while my back was turned ( suspect they must have the fake stuff at home. I think I made him lick his plate! melx
ReplyDeleteOh no! I am hearing you, those are the days that you (nearly) wish you could go do some paid work outside the house...hopefully you'll remember the golden advice "nap when baby's napping" today!
ReplyDeleteTotally know the feeling! I'm sitting here have a cup of chai, trying not to look at the room around me... but I know that the time will come when I have to stand up and do something about it! If only it was easier to know where to start... good luck!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Tania...my washing tends to look like that everyday...i never get in front!I feel for you on the clingy front too...makes it tough to get anything done with an extra person clinging on!
ReplyDeleteJust let it go, sit down, have a cuppa and know that the world won't end if you are a little behind on the housework (this is what gets me through some days lately)...hugs for you xx
It is unfair that the messy things in life get in the way of the fun things isn't it! Maple syrup spill - catastrophe!
ReplyDeleteeeek. Miss Violet please give your mum 10 minutes peace for a cup of tea.Love your flowery header.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That would make me cry. I hope you get a nice relaxing few days ahead now. Don't you hate that business paperwork stuff? Agh!
ReplyDeleteOh, no! Particularly if I was feeling overwhelmed by the house I bet I'd cry over spilled syrup. A food tragedy! I think its expensive here and I am much closer to Canada so I can only imagine that compounding the event.
