good weekend

After the usual rush of soccer and sewing lessons, it was a quiet, pottering around type of weekend here. Just the way I like it.

Crafting, cooking, reading and tea can be amazingly good for the soul. Not to mention a little cider. Or pasta carbonara.

That Elizabeth Zimmerman sweater has proved to be not so tricky afterall, if approached with a good dose of common sense. Luca may just get his jumper this year afterall. Sad to say I am not the fastest knitter in the world.

I made a little dish of potato, bacon and brie cheese from Little Paris Kitchen. It was very good, and I'm looking forward to delving a little more into the world of French cookery. Rachel Khoo reminds me a little of a modern day Julia Child, though her recipes have been modified and simplified somewhat from the traditional.

I think it was a good weekend.

Love the pinifore is that what it is? Far out it was soooooo windy here over the weekend we lost the shed that collected the side of the water tank on it's way up the hill.....it was definately Wizard of Oz weather but no snow :/

Warmed ourselves with copious amounts of tea and cinnamon rolls....hmmmmmm

  4. Those books all look like such great reads and your weekend sounded exactly like the type I love - a few errands and then pottering around home, exactly as ours was yesterday. it bucketed here with rain yesterday so we were forced to stay indoors out of the chilly air but it was great to get a few jobs done and have some time to sit around and read and have a cuppa too. That dish you made sounds scrumptious - you'll have to let us know of any other good recipes you try from that book. Hope you have a lovely start to your week x

  9. Ah weekends! And weekends with bacon, potato and brie in the one dish...heaven. Have wanted to tackle a Ms. Zimmerman knit and your project has inspired me to give one a whirl. A good dose of common sense you say. Hmmm...somthing that is lacking at the moment but we'll jump right on in anyway. Hoping your week continues this lovely vibe :) x
