  1. Tania there is so much splendid goodness in this post :)
I was a huge fan of Enid Blyton as a child and had quite a collection.
Tea tastes much better when made with loose leaves and I don't use them nearly often enough.
When hubby was a child he used to throw all his apple cores out his bedroom window...what resulted was the most amazing apple trees that my MIL transplanted up the back...they were laden with fruit every year.
I don't know why I haven't subscribed to CS yet..I buy it every month.
Hope you share the little sewing project you are working on.

  2. I am going to start using loose leaf tea .. I am! That dress is just so sweet and all of your photos are lovely. I especially like the reading picture. Pictures of kids reading really make me happy , she looks like she is enjoying it too. Happy Wednesday Tania. x

  3. I remember reading Enid Blyton books so well, Famous Five, Secret seven, the Magic Wishing Tree, it makes me smile just thinking about it. Like Tammy said seeing kids reading just makes me happy, and I'm glad to see Ms Blyton's books are still attracting readers. Hopefully when my children are old enough they will enjoy her books as much as I did.
    Have a great day :)

  4. So much I love! That straw bag! The vintage blocks! Country style! ... but most of all... that beautiful top your mother made for Violet - so gorgeous! I have something very similar for Eulalie -- but not with a patterned collar. Love it!

  7. Hi Tanya! I've just foung your blog and love you pictures and beautiful kids!
Just a heads up, apples grown from seed are not true to type and its a very small percentage that end up being edible. http://gardenspace.newarchaeology.com/apples_from_seed.php
The best way is to grow them from cuttings and they strike really easily in a glass of water on the window sill! Im doing it at the moment.

  11. I love the colour on the dress your mum made for your bub, it is lovely!

I absolutely devoured Enid Blyton as a child, and my younger two like her providing I'm doing the reading, it's so nice when kids read for themselves, I love to see it.

I'm looking forward to see what you are sewing up!

  12. Sorry, meant to say collar. That's what you get for typing in a hurry when tea is in the oven.

  13. I love all the pictures in this post! I could not encourage my eight year old to read 'just for fun' until, about a month ago, I bought an old copy of the first Famous Five book. Now she won't get her nose out of books. I've bought the next three in the series already. Which book do you have?

  14. Hi Tania I bought more tea ball strainers after reading Rhonda's post and I love them! Tea tastes like tea when it is made from loose leaves. Love your bags and I forget mine too sometimes!

  16. what lovely glimpses into your life! I have been trying to convince the hubby to put up some hooks in the garage to hang the shopping bags... am still working in it! haha!

love the little dress... i have somehow manages to collect two big plastic crates full of vintage kiddie clothes with no children to wear them - maybe one day! there is just something about vintage baby clothes - i cant seem to leave them hanging in the op shop!
