the budding sewist

Part of Julia's christmas gifts this year included a sewing kit and sewing book. The sewing kit was a little op shop find from six months ago that I had hidden away.  Before wrapping it was filled with a few sewing essentials and accompanied by Sewing School, a lovely little book for kids, filled with simple hand sewn projects.

After her recent interest in sewing,  (as well as her little hand sewn christmas gift for her sister) I thought this gift would be well recieved. And it most definitely was! The next day the little mouse was cut out and completed with very minimal help from myself. No words of encouragement required.

Proof that kids are often far more capable of crafty projects than we might suppose. The right materials at the right time can lead to wonderful things.

  1. what a beautiful gift Tanya. I remember the little packages of crafty gear that my mumma used to give to me, and it definitely sparked a life-long love affair with handmade and creative arts. Bec x
