goings on
Much of this week has been spent sorting, cleaning and putting away. Every Spring and Autumn I like to do a proper clean out of our cupboards and clothes. Sorting out Julia's clothes that can be put away for Violet, Luca's for my nephew and most of Violet's to go to the op shop. Though there is a few little things I can't bear to part with.
Trying to not let the toy situation get out of hand. I find that when we have too many toys the kid's tend to get overwhelmed with choice, little pieces go missing and it is just too hard to keep the room clean.
But I have to say that it's so pleasant to put things away and everything is folded nicely and where it should be. If only it would last.
In other news, Violet has learnt to clap. On command.
Our street trees have blossomed with their unusual green. Does anyone know the name of this? I keep meaning to google this, but never get around to it.
We will be enjoying the unusually warm weather and a barbeque this weekend. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Your children have the most lovely eyes! Whenever I read a post, it is always the first thing I notice! Congratulations to Violet on the clapping, that must be very cute to see. As for the cleaning, I'm slowly getting around to mine too...
ReplyDeleteBig claps for you in getting to the spring cleaning. I can't wait to set aside a few hours to sort through pipers things. We are painting the house so are waiting to declutter until then. Like therapy. Beautiful pictures. X ashley
ReplyDeleteWell done to Violet on learning to clap. She must be exhausted from it all.
ReplyDeleteAnd well done to you too with all the cleaning..the house must feel that much more calmer with everything in its right place.
I've currently got a cardboard box in each room, in the process of being filled for the opshops.

Hi Tania. I think they may be elm trees. As you have done, they are gorgeous in a vase. Maybe English elm? Alison
ReplyDeleteViolet looks so sweet in the little vintage dress you got from Kel.
ReplyDeleteOoh I love that little vintage dress Violet is wearing..and how clever that she is now clapping :)
ReplyDeleteSpring cleaning is always so therapeutic isn't it? Clearing out the clutter from our homes also clears the mind from being bogged down.
Have a great weekend.

Well done you with the spring clean, I just can't seem to be able to get it done. I did start on our bedroom and I did spend a day with my pregnant daughter and did started on her house with her bedroom but now it just seems to have been over taken with more pressing things around the farm. The look on Violet's face says it all!
ReplyDeleteBrought back memories this morning seeing Violet in the gorgeous tartan smocked dress - my DD15 had a dress almost exactly like that, down to the embroidery on the collar, about 14 years ago, and the other side of the world. Lovely to see her in one like it!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog - thank you for sharing your lovely photos,
Morgan x
i'm hoping to do some sorting this weeked....thanks for the inspiration. Enjoy the blossoming trees and the bbq! x
ReplyDeleteclap, clap!
Oh I want to know what those green flowers are too, how fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, beautiful as usual. Love the sleepyhead collapsed among the pillows :-)
I think Alison is right about the tree blossoms - http://lh2treeid.blogspot.com/2010/03/ulmus-glabra-camperdownii-camperdown.html
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous though! I've finally started my veggie plot by fencing around it to keep the chooks out! Thanks to your inspiring photos.
Violet is so cute laughing away:) It sounds like she is going through a fun and interesting stage, it looks like everyone is enjoying clapping with her. You inspired me the other day and I went through the little ones drawer with a couple of bags to give to my friend. I think I'll write myself a list of a few things that need some Spring cleaning. Have a wonderful weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteIm spring cleaning at the moment too. This weekend im planning on sorting through our clothes and work out what we need for the coming warmer months.
ReplyDeleteClever Violet! Its always so cute when they learn how to clap.
Have a great weekend Tania :)
Oh, that clapping photo brought a smile to my face. I always enjoy your photos though. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness...look at her asleep. an angel. x
ReplyDeleteLove your blog :) Your wee Violet is growing up so fast! Clapping on command (whilst smiling proudly) is surely one of THE most adorable things a babe can do to melt the heart any grumpy adult!
ReplyDeleteI remember being in a grocery line up with my baby daughter (who was a new clapper) and there was a very sour, grumpy looking man behind me, impatiently checking his watch, sighing and mumbling... he was NOT happy. My baby girl lit up her sweet little face in a huge smile and started clapping proudly at him and I was astonished at how quickly his mood changed! Within seconds, he was a "puddle on the floor", cooing and smiling, clapping along with my daughter... Ahh, the power of a sweet smily baby, clapping proudly to anyone who will watch :)
Gorgeous pics!
