Your indoor plants and hydrangeas look lovely. I haven't had many indoor plants yet so I can't really help out with advice but just diving in and doing sounds good. xx
This post reminds me so much of my mum and dad's house. She has a slight obsession with pot plants and has quite an array both inside and out and has the most amazing bonzai collection I have ever seen. She is quite the green thumb my mum and I miss leaving their house after a visit with pot plants of my own to take home.Cyclamen and Hydrangeas are favourites of mine :)x
You've certainly picked a great place to live - quinces, apples and now hydrangeas free for the picking! I dream of that sort of abundant foraging!
Just don't overwater and pop the cyclamen outside on the verandah for some cold night air. They actually don't like too much warmth. When it starts to look not so good, plant it under a tree in a shaded spot in the garden. Perfect!
I am a killer of indoor plants! All apart from those in the second last picture - those I can keep alive. They seem to thrive on my neglect. Hydrangeas in water, I can do that. But usually I just pop them in a vase without water so that they will dry out and I will get to keep looking at them for longer. Some colours hold really well when dried. :)
Hi Tania, it should be fine, just avoid direct frost contact. Alternatively, tuck it behind a curtain and/or next to a window at night for some cool air whilst you have the fire going. Alison
This reminds me of my nana..she always had the sweetest little pot plants in her tiny flat - mostly African violets.. which I have never managed to keep alive more than 3 weeks! I wish our house captured more natural light, pot plants do not do well inside our home. With winter coming, maybe some sprouts for the kitchen could be fun too? I was just thinking today that I should pull down our sprouting jar for speedy winter harvest satsifaction. ;) Lovely hydrangeas too, btw!
Looks great, at the moment I am a bit obsessed with succulents, they are so easy. I love how you just cut of a section and pot it, done and it lives. Keep going I say.
Very pretty. Houseplants add so much to the home...and actually make for better air quality, too. Loved the pictures.
same, same - cyclamen and hydrangea, stunning. http://suzyhausfrau.blogspot.com.au/2011/06/i-think-that-humble-old-cyclamen-is-one.html. My cyclamen is waking from its summer siesta. Cyclamen like cold nights so put them outside to sleep. That book looks amazing, can't see the author tho???
