a tidy kitchen

I was recently asked by my brother in law (who built our now three year old kitchen) to snap a few photos for his joinery business. Our kitchen is rarely spotless, with three kids in the house, there is always something going on in there. You clean, and they get something else out. There are always assorted jars fermenting, dishes out and things on the stove. You know how it goes. So when I took these pictures I gave everything a good clean, added some flowers and snapped away. Although you've seen my kitchen before, I'm not sure if I've shown it in it's entirety. So here it is in a (rare) very tidy state. (Just don't mind the sheet still hanging in the window!)

Edited to add : For more on our house and how it came into being, check out this old post, our house.

  1. I love your kitchen Tania. I could spend hours and hours in there. My kitchen is only tidy at the end of the evening once everyone has gone to bed and I can clean it without interruption xo

  9. I think we should swap kitchens...mine is ravishing with dated pine cupboards and a ruby red bench top - my oven doesn't seal properly and the stove range-hood is so noisy it's like a plane is taking off - you'd love it ha ha.

  10. I love your kitchen. It looks huge compared to mine, and so warm and inviting. I just want to get in to that pantry of yours!

My kitchen is being removed this weekend and the new one installed on Tuesday! One more week of my ugly 30 year old peach kitchen! (We won't mention that the stone bench tops will take another week though.) I'm so excited. For good or bad I have gone with an all white kitchen. It has a vintage vibe (I hope - it's hard to tell if it is going to turn out how you visualised, isn't it?) and I am looking forward to cooking up a storm once it is done.

Will have to take some before and afters. Of all the renovations, the kitchena and the bathroom make a house I think. Hubby designed the bathroom, so the kitchen was mine. Hope I got it right! xx

  14. Hi Lauren - I manage to keep the bottom (often used) shelves pretty much dusted as they are often empty when I use the cups or bowls etc, but the top ones unfortunately stay dusty until I rearrange them.
Anonymous - I have not once bumped into the sink, and had not even thought of it until you mentioned it.

  16. What a great space you have there, looks incredibly clean. My husband used to say we ought to take a picture of when everything is neat and tidy so as we had a standard to aim for when we tidied.
