less busy days

Being unable to download from my camera, I still have no new photos to share here. Meanwhile an unrelated photo is better than none at all. It's funny how the lack of pictures can really make one stuck for words. I feel like I'm only half blogging. In fact I'm quite missing that visible sense of sharing. I'd love to show you my finished dress, invisible zipper finally inserted. I'd love to show you the tunic dress I made for Julia on the weekend. I'd love to show you a lovely gift from a fellow blogger. I'd love to show you some new wool as well as a new little knitting project. But these are posts for another day.

There were no big family feasts as planned on the weekend. My parents shared a simple lunch of freshly baked bread, a huge salad of kale, rocket, french sorrel and spinach and cheese with us. Sometimes simple can be better. A larger meal is planned for this coming weekend when other family members will be down.

The second week of the school holidays has rolled around, and I'm hoping for a less busy one this time. A few semi sleep ins and nothing planned kind of days is what I'm thinking. The sun is shining and the grass is freshly mown, with our compost pile all the happier for it. I'm looking forward to a few sunny, slightly more carefree days at home.

How was your long weekend (if you had one)? Are you in the midst of school holidays too?

  1. Hi Tania, your new blog set up looks great. The photo of your family on the beach looks amazing - it sparkles off the screen! First week of school holidays for us here. I'm planning for a quiet one. Lots of home days for us. Elaina xo

  4. exhausted! Am I allowed to say it? So far it's been full speed and now we are all feeling a bit helter skelter...don't want to go to be and don't want to get out of bed all the while consuming Vicker's fudge and copious amounts of tea....not so bad then hey?

  5. It's so frustrating when technology doesn't work or like me you can't figure things out. I enjoy the quiet weeks too where you just enjoy being at home without plans. And I love a freshly mown lawn to look over, the yard often feels cleaner and more organised after it's done. Our long weekend was spent a little bit at home, a bit of cooking and trying new dishes and a day out exploring. Enjoy your week of holidays this week I hope you get some sleep ins and sunny days:)

We just pottered around on the long weekend, chatted to our wallaby 'Hoppy'...and then built yet another fence to try and keep him out of the vegie patch lol!The twins are enjoying having miss teen home more due to the holidays.
Good luck with your sleep in's...i don't recall those hehe!

  7. Your photos are so lovely I can see why you miss sharing them! I am going to attempt an invisible zipper for the first time this weekend (if all goes according to plan). Wish me luck! I look forward to when technology permits you to show yours!
